Maxine: What are you doing down there, Shannon?
Shannon: I cut loose one of God's creatures at the end of the rope.
Maxine: What'd you do that for, Shannon?
Shannon: So that one of God's creatures could scramble home safe and free... A little act of grace, Maxine.

How does Maxine and Shannon know each other? I'm not sure it reveals in the book. But maybe I missed it.
ReplyDeleteIt does not say, I guess all it says that Shannon knew Maxine's husband Fred who recently died 2 weeks before Shannon arrived at the hotel. Why would shannon go to that hotel anyways ?
ReplyDeleteI actually just found out that they were actually old friends. Him, Frank and she have been friends. So I take that Shannon knows her through Frank.
ReplyDeleteFrank yes, they used to go fishing together. He says it somewhere during the play. Maxine actually talked about that saying that thats all he would do, go fishing and wouldn't give any attention to her
ReplyDeleteYea that's why when Frank died he asked to be dropped in the ocean and Maxine claims she "regrets doing it" because it's a bit creepy.
